Background of the Study
Road infrastructure development is essential for economic growth and connectivity, particularly in rural areas like Jama’are Local Government Area (LGA) in Bauchi State. However, geopolitical disparities, including uneven resource allocation, political rivalries, and regional priorities, often influence the development of road networks. In Jama’are, the state of road infrastructure is impacted by these geopolitical factors, resulting in poor road conditions that hinder economic activities, mobility, and access to basic services. This study will examine how geopolitical disparities between local, state, and federal governments influence the planning, implementation, and maintenance of road networks in Jama’are.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the vital role that roads play in economic development, Jama’are LGA faces significant challenges regarding road network development. These challenges are compounded by geopolitical factors such as unequal resource distribution, the prioritization of urban areas over rural regions, and political tensions that affect funding and project implementation. This study will investigate the impact of these geopolitical disparities on road infrastructure in Jama’are.
